Well, no pigs are killed in the process of making these crispy, chips-like biscuits. Made with plain flour and fish sauce, they are referred to as such because of their shape that looks like an ear. Pig (some say Cow) Ears Biscuits evolved from the Butterfly Biscuits which are more difficult to make and can only be made by hand.
Not that we are aware of. Chai Wee is a family business and we are maintaining this tradition, as taught by my grandma, that the best biscuits needs to be hand crafted with love. Hence our biscuits are crispier, thinner and ‘explodes’ in your mouth with each bit – all the signs of an authentic and well made biscuits.
