THE CHIEFS

Every Tribe has a Chief or Chiefs – which is what we affectionately refer to our local guides. Our Chiefs know the ins and outs of the city, is respectful of its past and heritage and can also fast track you to the local pub to get a cool one or the best kept secret eating places. A super guide makes all the difference in a vacation. They show and tell you things about a landmark or street that you will walk right by even with the best guide book or app. Don’t kid yourself, there is no substitute for a super guide. Who are the local experts? At Tribe, we affectionately call them Natives and they are the true stars of our tours. From local craftsmen who will show you how bread was traditionally made, to makers of paper houses for the deceased, to a curator of our Peranakan culture, to photographer/guides passionate about giving a different perspective of Singapore through their lens, to a renowned Peranakan Masterchef teaching the finer points in Peranakan cooking.
