Even though our resident photographer shoots nature, animals, people and buildings. But it is in architecture and buildings where she has a deep passion for. In this workshop, she will take you to Housing Development Board (HDB) flats. HDB flats are public housing where 85% of Singaporeans live. HDB flats are a fascinating subject to shoot. Why? HDB flats are seemingly nondescript and easily overlooked by locals but with an expert, you will see the true beauty and character that makes up what is authentic and real Singapore.
On this tour, you get to shoot HDB flats from different heights, rooftops mid-level and ground up. Also, interesting bits that make up a HDB flat like mailboxes, railings, pipes, windows and common areas like void decks and playgrounds. Also, HDB flats usually are a bustle of activity where locals do their shopping of daily necessities, so you will also shoot a local market, flower and fruit shops, a food centre and a wet market.
