Good on you if you chose to spend your honeymoon from traditional hotspots such as Maldives and Paris. Here are a few spots you may or may not already know that you can add to you trip with a special someone.
Looking for a magical spot for an early morning stroll, head to MacRitchie Reservoir’s Tree Top Walk. It’s a beautiful way to start the day but watch out for those trail runners zipping by. Head to the suspension bridge and catch the sunrise amidst lush forest which is a rarity in Singapore. For more on Tribe’s Reviews on Parks.
In the evenings, you have to make tough choices between a romantic walk along the Henderson Waves Bridge (large picture above), a walk along the Boardwalk at Marina Bay Sands, East Coast Park.
Hire a Boat
Here’s something a little different. You can easily rent a speedboat at Punggol that takes you and your love one away to waterski or wakeboard in the sunset. Pack along a picnic basket, some ice cold ones, nice beats from the boat, and you have one of the coolest things you can do in Singapore. Head to Punggol Marina Singapore and a bunch of boat and equipment rental companies are there. Rates are fairly standard across and go for about $100 – $150 per hour or if you go in a group, works out to about $70 for a 30 – 40 minute session. Charges are based on the rental of the boat and equipment, petrol, the driver fees and basic instructions. Obviously, the more people on board the boat, the cheaper it is for each person, but also less play time for each.
Dining Options for Couples
The Cliff at the Sentosa Resort and Spa
Bistro Du Vin
PS Cafe (Dempsey branch)
The White Rabbit
Warning: As yet, there is no detailed review of each of these restaurants. And because they differ in range and types, it is strongly advised to do further research before booking. For example, Colbar is very casual and rustic but the surrounding area of Portsdown is so lovely, it’s on our list. The Cliff is many rungs up in terms of poshness, ambience and service.
Getting Down on One Knee
Need more romantic spots for proposing? Try Rochester Park or if you’re looking for something more traditional, how about a cable car ride from Jewel Box at Mount Faber to Harbourfront? Or the Singapore Flyer or Marina Bay Sand’s SkyPark Infinity Pool. Make sure you craddle that rock with your life and not drop it off the pool’s edge.
